He nearly drowned in a storm at sea off Zanzibar, got caught out in a typhoon in Vietnam and Taiwan and broke down in a locust storm when driving in the remote Australian Outback. When he’s not inadvertently risking his life he spends time writing and photographing for the Sunday Times, Wanderlust, Bradt and others.
